Created in 1891 by the Christofle workshops, this vases is characteristic of the naturalist movement, at a time when fauna and flora inspired the creation of objects and works of art, just before Art Nouveau stylized its forms to the extreme.

This vase represents an onion with astonishing realism and an abundance of detail. This vase of 10,5 cm in height is made of patinated silver-plated metal, a technique that brings out the reliefs of the decor for a chiseled finish.
